spending, gambling, etc. might be a good idea? ("Maybe I ought to limit
it to once a week.")
Have you ever experienced being ANNOYED by
another's talking about your use of - or thinking about - alcohol,
marijuana, cocaine, sex, work, spending, gambling, etc.? ("What are
they making such a big deal for?")
Have you ever felt GUILTY or ashamed about your
use of - or thinking about - alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, sex, work,
spending, gambling, etc.? ("I better not tell anyone that I ...")
Have you ever used alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, sex,
work, spending, gambling, etc. to help get
your EMOTIONS settled or numb out feelings of guilt, shame,
pain, fear or loneliness? ("I just want one drink - or one hit or one
orgasm - and I'll feel better.")
One "yes" answer suggests
a possible problem. More than one "yes"
answer and it is highly likely that a problem exists. Please consult
with your personal medical doctor or other health care provider right
away to discuss your answers to these questions to consider whether you
have a problem with addiction and explore your best course of action.
